Erase the signs of aging around your eyes with our eyelid cosmetic surgery treatment.

Blepharoplasty aims to remove excess fat and skin on the upper and lower eyelids. In other words, it is an eyelid cosmetic surgery.

When skin elasticity decreases, folds appear on the upper eyelids and/or wrinkles or bags appear on the lower eyelids. Eyelid plastic surgery can address these problems of excess skin above (upper blepharoplasty) and below (lower blepharoplasty) the eyes.

Conditions :

  • Loss in skin elasticity

Treatment and duration

In upper eyelid surgery, a small incision is made in the natural fold of the skin and the excess skin is removed. After healing, the incision is camouflaged in the natural skin fold and invisible to the naked eye. If fat deposits are also present, a small amount can be removed to help define the upper eyelid.

Unlike upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid blepharoplasty is performed by camouflaging the incision inside the eyelid. A certain amount of fat is removed through this incision. Since it is camouflaged inside the eyelid, the scar is invisible. If there is excess skin, it can be removed through a small incision just below the eyelashes, where the scar remains well camouflaged. A very small amount of skin from the lower eyelid can then be removed. In cases where skin is removed, particular attention must be paid to preserving adequate support for the lower eyelid, in order to avoid complications. If there is insufficient lower eyelid support, it may be necessary to tighten the supporting ligaments.

This operation is usually performed under local anesthesia and, depending on its extent, lasts between one and a half and three hours.

The final results are visible within two months.
